This place give you a classic Italian feel. It has been in the owners family for generations! The garlic pizza is to die for. Highly recommended
Quiet atmosphere and great food
A classic. Simple, great Italian food in the original old-school setting. Totally worth the trip if you're in the region. The sort of place Bourdain would love. Don't miss the homemade pasta and the garlic sticks.
The very best and authentic Italian food you'll find. My family (Italians) have been eating here since it opened it's doors and generations to come will do the same.
Garlic pizza is THE best. Friendly service.
Great food, nice people
Their white cheese pizza is delicious!!
I had fond memories of this place when I was a child but the last time I was there about a month ago the garlic pizza is not what it used to be and not what I remember it like as a child
I just returned home from ordering meatballs and spaghetti extra meatballs no less the meatballs are horrible extremely spicy full of Cayenne pepper and he told me he’d give me my money back for the extra meatballs didn’t know how to return the money to my credit card this is so unacceptable
Love this place waitress was very nice and always check to make sure we didn't need anything
A classic Italian style restaurant from the early 20th Century. Food is tasty, especially the pizza. Solid bar service. Been going there for over 50 years.
Food (complimentary cheese bread!!) is excellent. Prices are reasonable. Service is very good. Atmosphere is the disappearing vintage "tavern with dining room where owners live upstairs" establishment of my youth. Plus Mama Mangialardo's portrait is on the wall keeping an eye on everything.
Being an Italian from NYC I'm pretty snobby about Italian food, but even if I wasn't, this place was pretty subpar. First off, the service was slow and the waitresses did more gossiping in earshot of our table, then they did actually waitressing. The place was very dark and there is actually carpet on the walls. I felt like I was back in the 70s, and not in a good way. The food wasn’t anything to write home about either. The garlic sticks were actually flat pizza (with american cheese?) cut into strips. The gnocchi was homemade but I’ve had frozen gnocchi that had tasted better than what I was served. The sauce was bland, they don’t even serve pesto sauce, the fried calamari was rubbery and from what I can tell was prepackaged. There are a few places in the Valley that has better Italian food. Do a quick google search and you should be able to find them including my reviews.
I've been going there for Pizza since the early 1970's....awesome !!!
Yummy food, superb service, and an old school Italian feel. Well worth the 25-minute drive from home; will definitely be stopping back for dinner again soon!
This place is a local institution, and I was brought here by family who had been coming for 50 years. Don't come looking for pretentious meals to photograph. This is Italian standard fare done the same way since forever, in a dimly lit dining room. I felt like I was a welcome stranger in a room full of old friends, 40 years ago.
Mangie's still has the best Italian food around! Good prices, waitress was great and prices very reasonable.
Not A kid friendly restaurant at all. Hardly anything on the menu for them and only one highchair that's so old it didn't even have any Davsaf straps. Food was ok but overpriced. Won't go again and wouldn't recommend to anyone with children under ten.
Had bad seats, crowded tables, can't put tip on credit card
Great place to have a nice Italian dinner. They also have take out with excellent pizzas. Not to mention a separate bar area where you can also order food. Great food! Great drinks! Great service! Comfortable and clean dining area. Definitely the best Italian restaurant around for miles.
Best garlic pizza and the veal parm is good also. Nice family resturant and lounge
Very good Italian food and amazing garlic pizza.
The service was great in the food was delicious... what more could you ask for?
Go for the Garlic pizza. Their pizza is priced well and kids love it. Long waits for large groups.
Ate here for the first time and was not impressed. The garlic pizza was alright, the quality of cheese could be improved. I ordered shells for my dinner expecting them to be stuffed with cheese or something at least, but ended up with half cooked shells drowning in a ridiculous amount of pasta sauce, no cheese in site. It was barely edible and left me wanting something else. A few people in my party got something different than what they ordered and everyone was left unsatisfied. The atmosphere is old and very dark. Waitress was trying her best but was overwhelmed and it was understaffed. We waited over an hour for food and then another hour, after we were finnished, for the check. Don't go here if you have plans later in the evening.
Terrific food, beautiful bar, great wine, love it
The best pizza Our favorite meat sauce and onions. Try there greens❤️ Nothing beats the garlic pizza 🍕
Amazzzing! The garlic cheese pizza honestly is an incredible slice of heaven. Its the only thing I ever get there, but I hear they have other great dishes. But the garlic cheese pizza is what they’re known for. I usually get a couple half-baked pizzas to take home and freeze for later, since I live 2 hours away. It’s definitely worth the drive. This is a family-run restaurant, and when you’re there the long-time servers and staff treat you like family too. You can’t go wrong with this place!
The "Neighborhood Italian Restaurant," is so rare anymore. Decent food, modest prices, friendly staff. Mangialardo's is one of my favorites..
Good place for great food n friendly service
Excellent food and service. Enjoyed my visit.
The pizza dough wasn't even cooked at all . Had to wait like 15 minutes after the fact they told me I could pick it up . Plus the help seemed drugged up on meth even the old lady's. I used to love the pizza not going anymore.
Real made to order Italian food.
Great place for a local Italian dinner.
Fast friendly service ..great food !
It's a shame the service is so bad because the food is actually good. The owner is lazy and grumpy and has zero customer service skills. Prices are high as well. Even ordering to go is not going to cut it anymore. Do better mangi's.
Amazing Italian restaurant with authentic old world food, and a classic American vibe. Excellent service, and they know how to make great old school drinks!
Good old school family Italian restaurant. Everything I've had has been delicious. Francis, the owner, is 3rd generation.
Love the garlic pizza, a long time family favorite!!
It was fine but could have been better and staff could have paid more attention
This is the place to go for real Italian food. I have been going here for more than 49 years and every meal, every dish is excellent. From the homemade pastas to the antipasto everything is a true delight, worth the adventure to find this gem across the tracks!
I guess all good things must come to a end. My gramma and grandpa took my dad to Mangialardos when he was a kid. My parents took me to Mangialardos when I was a kid. I have taken my husband and many friends to Mangialardos. Tonight we took my gramma back to Mangialardos because she is back in town for a visit. It was just plain sad. The salads were dirty, and the food was not good. They use to pride them selves on home cooked food that they would prepare once you ordered. But our food was out in less than twenty minutes. And without a doubt it came out of a box and jar. Just so sad at our experience tonight. Mangialardos has always been a fond memory for me and my family and I can confidently say that we will probably not return.
My favorite Italian Restaurant. Their food is the best and I still go here when I visit my family in PA.
Made our party wait over an hour and a half for our meals. When they brought them out, they were cold. Definitely can’t recommend.
We ate here for my sisters in laws wedding rehearsal dinner and it was nothing but unpleasant the waitress we had was very rude to us and told my brother in law who is allergic to eggs that the chicken parm did not have eggs in it. Obviously most chicken Parms have eggs. Which if my brother in law did eat it he could have had a allergic reaction and died. We should not be experiencing these problems when it is my sisters in laws special day. Completely not okay treatment and made it a miserable dinner after 5 different options she offered him saying they didn’t have egg and they ended up having eggs in them. She was just plain rude about the situation.
One of the Best garlic pizzas you can find. The entire menu is great. The atmosphere is pre 660's. We love it.
A special place for family, always good memories... Thank you for all you do.
Love the food here and that old Italian feel. I especially love their garlic pizza they cut into strips and serve before every meal. The only thing that kept me out of the restaurant for many years was a racial slur made by one of the people employed there and who still is employed there - quite possibly the owner.
